Brenda Kuamoo
Brenda Sue Kuamoo, 70, of Hilo, died Sept. 2, 2022, at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Maryland, she was self employed, and also spent many years as a Pop Warner Football League commissioner for the County of Hawaii.
Visitation and field day activities noon-4 p.m. Sept. 24 at the Haili Tent in Panaewa Park. Casual attire; no flowers.
She is survived by sons, Keith Kuamoo, Colin Kuamoo, Adan Rodrigues and Kimo (Mariah) Oberle, all of Hilo; daughter, Bonnie Rodrigues of Hilo; sister, Donna Berryhill of Hilo; 11 grandchildren; and one nephew.

Edward Kurokawa
Edward Sueto Kurokawa, 89, of Hakalau died Sept. 6, 2022, at his residence. Born in Paauilo, he was a retired sales manager for United Agri Products, former leader of Boys Scouts of America Troop #78, member of the Ainako Kumiai and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Private services. Family requests no flowers or koden (monetary gifts).
She is survived by sons, Brad Kurokawa of Honomu, Joel (Lori) Kurokawa of Honolulu; daughter, Susan (Kevin) Ho of Waimea; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Kari Mizutani-Alonzo
Kari Lynn Mizutani-Alonzo, 62, of Keaau, died July 5, 2022 at her residence. Born Sept. 28, 1959, in Bremerhaven, Germany, she retired as an office assistant with the Department of Health developmental disabilities division and was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church and Lehua Jaycees.
A celebration of life will be held Oct. 1 at the Puna Hongwanji in Keaau from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Casual attire.
She is survived by husband, Eddie Alonzo of Keaau; daughter, Tiffany Alonzo of Washington; son, Brandon Alonzo of Hilo; parents; Warren Mizutani and Marsha Wong of Kauai; sister, Stacy (William III) Texeira; brother, Brent (Michele) Mizutani of Kauai; hanai daughters, Mei Lin (Kahuwila) Kanakaole of Kauai, Melonee Leinaala Kahaonaele of Honokaa, Atoria Kamoku-Lee; three grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Genevieve “Genny” Mollene Mililani Kauka Francisco, 68, of Hilo, died Aug. 19, 2022 at Hilo Medical Center. Born March 13, 1954, in Honolulu, she worked in the tour industry as a travel director.
Friends may call Sept. 29 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Saints, Hilo Stake Center for visitation from 9 to 10:45 a.m.; funeral services at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park (Section 4).
She is survived by daughter, Keala Francisco of Hilo; three grandchildren, Moani, Keola, and Kaleo; two great-grandchildren, Makana and Pono; sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Donald Olaso, 87, of Hilo died Aug. 26, 2022, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Wahiawa, he was a retired U.S. Army Staff Sergeant and Vietnam War veteran, and formerly employed at Longs Drugs and Sears.
Visitation from 8:45 to 9:30 a.m. Sept. 26 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo; memorial Mass at 9:30. Military services will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery #2 Pavilion. Casual attire.
